Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve experienced a lot of resistance to reading the DMP, BPB, cards, etc. aloud and with enthusiasm. I did the work, but it involved some major efforts regarding timing and placement to ensure that no one saw me.
I read very well aloud…and can harness a range of emotion and expression to make such a reading interesting and entertaining for anyone who would be inclined to listen. I learned and practiced this skill in Toastmasters…but that’s just it. It was a skill, deliberately put on display.
These readings we’re doing here, for me, are not a display. It is a private conversation between my conscious and subconscious minds. Something just for me…nobody else’s business.
Until this week…
It finally happened! I thought I was secluded…complete privacy where I could comfortably muster the GUSTO and irregular reading patterns to whip ‘subby’ into submission. But upon completing my session, I turned only to observe my neighbor observing me! I was a little embarrassed at first, but he started asking questions and as I began to answer, I realized there is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about.
I’m doing something different to change my life for the BETTER. I’m taking a road less traveled. I’m proud of the efforts I’m making and I’m glad to have this opportunity of personal growth and change.
