I’ve been amused this week to notice how much easier it’s gotten to stop being “too cool for school”… Especially in my daily habitual readings. A couple weeks ago I’d be reading silently or just barely whispering to myself. Now I find myself pacing the entire house in circles, gesticulating wildly and modulating my voice up and down! It’s become fun. And it’s made a big difference to cross out all the future-tense stuff in the Greatest Salesman, to make it all present-tense. It flows and reads so much better!
