“Who Do You Think You Are?!” That was what someone asked me once when I gave him a copy of my resume. He seemed to think I should only give him a single page treatment, and mine was three. We are living in a world of expectations, norms, systemic mediocrity, conformity, people pleasing, etc. Those who don’t conform, or aren’t willing to conform, are sometimes labeled as renegades. Yet, it has also become typical for most major breakthroughs and major changes to come about because of renegades and their thinking and innovation.
As I’ve been processing this week and looking to the future, I’ve been reviewing previous successes and the thinking and actions that brought me to them, and realized that I had won because I was doing some of what we’re being taught. I had some pieces, but no real formula.
So, in my own mind and previous experience I found evidence (in thinking, imagining the outcome ahead of time, self-talk) to support the MKE course success in my future, and bolster my expectation and anticipation of what is yet to come. Belief and hope are wonderful things. The promise of the reality of a significant “me squared” transformation is very much desired, expected, and downright exciting!
I realized that my cement encasement has to fully go. I’ve now seen too much, and there’s no going back. It’s no accident that we’re here. We who are willing to step out of the crowd and be the renegades will achieve the 1% results, and will not be denied.
Yes, Mike. “The Road Less Traveled” is somewhat a paradox. It is wide and well-paved, though so few seem to find it. Apparently, you’re finding yours! 🙂
Great blog post Mike! Step out of the crowd and be the renegade and get the reward you deserve, “because you are worth it”
That is inspiring and I can read that you are a confident self-directed thinker!
MKE certainly has the formula for you Mike.
Inspiring post Mike. Cheering you on!
