This was a transitional week from Scroll 2 to Scroll 3 in The Greatest Salesman. One thing is absolute and that is; repetition is the key to mastery. I’ve never really taken the time to read something over and over and it’s interesting to see how even after reading something 85 times, on the 86th time I can still notice something in the reading that I hadn’t before. The more you learn, the different the lesson comes across. Shift the way you look at things and the things you look at change.
I’m finding a pure joy in doing the daily assignments and that has a lot to do with starting to see results. That’s what’s so interesting about Scroll 3 as it talks about the persistence needed in anything to create success. The biggest problem with that is too often when we are persistent with something, the improvement may be so subtle that we think we aren’t improving. THIS is why it is so key to track what it is you are doing so you can look back from time to time to realize how far you have really come.
The other belief in this scroll is that with enough persistence, success is inevitable, and there is so much truth in that. One thing that gets lost in this is that the faster you fail forward, the faster you’ll see results and this return comes at an exponential rate. The best part however is that once you start seeing the results, the excitement to do the tasks increase more and more!
So stay the course, make adjustments as needed, maintain the love, & persist long enough, for when you do, YOU WILL WIN!
Dan, I really enjoyed your blog … actually read it more than once. Persistence, repetition, joy, are all components of learning and training for our minds. You are doing such great work!
To build habits one must by definition do things over and over and over again. I hear ya, Dan. Persistence drives alone at first, until growing excitement starts to reward the results of your action. Sounds as if you’re getting there, and that’s the same as being there. Nice! 🙂
Well written, I didn’t want it to end. I’m so glad to hear about your positive results. Perspective is everything!
Finding value in repetition…great observation Dan…leads to Mastery. Great read! Thank you for sharing your insights.
