Haanel states, “If you wish harmonious conditions in your life, you must develop a harmonious mental attitude. Your world without will be a reflection of your world within.” My mentor taught me the word harmony meant “harm to none.” I say the word “harmonious” several times per day when I read my affirmation, “I am complete, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, healthy, and happy.” I changed it from the original affirmation because I’m a self-directed thinker now!
Anyway, it occurred to me that I’m included in that “harm to none” concept. So, every negative thought I entertain or action I take that doesn’t support my goal is harming me. I understood this on some level with the 7 day mental diet, but my focus had been more on being positive and loving other people rather than myself. Reframing that concept to include me was really powerful because if I truly desire harmony then I can’t harm myself with my old peptides and patterns.
I imagine myself standing in a construction site surrounded by wet cement and I have a trowel in my hand pre-loaded with it. Every time I doubt, hate, fear, judge myself etc. it’s like I take that trowel and slap that cement right on my body. However, when I give myself positive, life-giving, encouragement and love, my empty hand is able to slap that trowel right out of the other one. The trowel lands in the cement and gets stuck there so I can’t use it against me again. I choose harmony and I always keep my promises!
Love your insights Brittany. Thanks for sharing
Remember what Towelie says, Brittany. “Don’t forget to bring a trowel!” 🙂
What a vivid image, Brittany! Cheering you and all of us on as we slap away that trowel full of fresh cement! Thanks for that definition of HARMONY, too… 🙂
Harm to none keeps you separate from others I suggest that harmony is dance with yourself, others and the Universe. Enjoy!
