Sometimes we die to our old self to find a new freedom. And it has been very scary at time during these 17 weeks with lots of anxiety & fear & resistance to what I could not say?
I have never been a butterfly before? So the fear of the unknown?
As my focus has been on kindness each moment of each day, I have been more kind to myself & able to relax. I am no longer a caterpillar. I Am something new.
The old self is the cement. As you chip it away you will see the light shine from deep within and you will be the person you were created to be.
Transformation can be scary, but what’s the alternative? Have faith and keep going!
WOW, thank you! This one really hit home. I really appreciated this blog.
I kept rereading what you wrote “we die to our old self to find a new freedom.” You said so much in what you wrote especially that sentence. I copied it, printed it and it now is on my wall.
I love this. As a biologist I have a great interest in butterflies and the process of metamorphosis. It parallells the maturation of the human mind in a perfect way. What once was the larvae turns into a nutritional soup for the imaginal cells that eventually becomes the butterfly. So yes, the old self really has to die for the new human butterfly to manifest. Happy new You!
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability Mark! Going thru a transformation is a huge step and I can sense a big portion of braveness within you, even if you, yourself, are taking the steps with a lot of emotions as you describe. Just keep on going Mark! You are doing greater than you believe!
Great share Mark 🙂 The unknown is where the magic happens – As we keep pressing into it with greater faith that ultimate reality is WAY better than what the program & our conditioned ego present we become more alive and aware of our inborn potential. On that same journey with you Pal – step by step 🙂
So glad to hear you are being kind to yourself! it is hard to leave comfort zones, even for the better things in life, because it’s what we know, and it’s familiar. Thank you for being brave and sharing with us!
Thanks for sharing your vulnerabilities Mark. When we transform ourselves no matter how small it is scary but it is usually for someone better. You’ve got this!
Your post and picture reminded me of this quote: “Butterflies can’t see their wings. They can’t see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can. People are like that as well.” I love that you are being kind to yourself as well as others even when it’s scary.
