I started the MKE in 2018 at the invitation of a colleague in the real estate business. I got a few weeks into it and even started “paying it forward”… but for some reason I stopped. I don’t remember why… I think maybe I just got overwhelmed because I fell behind and felt I could never catch up. It’s not that I didn’t like it or wasn’t getting anything out of it. At the time my business was very stressful and time-consuming and with MKE, if you’re truly doing everything you’re being told/asked to do, it easily requires 2 hours a day. Reading DMP 3X, reading The Greatest Salesman 3X, reading the BPB 2X, mediating 15 minutes. Then there’s the weekly blog posts, the surveys, the webinars, the Monday extras, etc. At the time this was simply an overwhelming amount of work to place on myself.
I’m in a very different place now. I’ve simplified my business. I’ve broken up with toxic business partners. I’ve woken up and started taking care of my body. I’ve lost almost 100 lbs. I’ve freed up an impressive amount of time in my daily schedule by focusing on “quality” not “quantity” with regard to the projects I take on.
So I thought the timing was pretty interesting when, out of the blue, I get an email about MKE about a month ago. I haven’t been getting them on any regular basis, probably none at all since 2018. But here it was, hitting me at a moment when I actually DO have the time to put the work in.
Ironically I needed to miss the first webinar, but I knew early on that this would happen, because of a prior commitment. I’m just about caught up now and looking forward to taking it “all the way” this time!
