So it begins…..here I am writing a blog. Not something I ever planned on doing but I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of doors this will open.
For me, this whole ‘improvement of myself’ journey has been a short one to say the least. I’ve walked this planet for the last 45 years and admittedly it has mostly been through the site of negative blinders with a false belief that as I got older, things would simply just work out the way I wanted them to.
When I was younger, good things just seemed to happen for me and there wasn’t a whole lot of struggles. I’m not going to pretend like my life was perfect, but looking back, I’ve come to realize that I was extremely fortunate growing up in the atmosphere that I did. For the most part, I enjoyed life as a kid.
So why would adulthood be any different? I did what I was “supposed” to do and after some trials and tribulations, I came to realize that this was not the life I wanted. Perhaps I’ll bore you with the details another time, but in those changes throughout the years, I eventually discovered the things I needed to do in order to improve my situation, to improve my life. I also realized that in order for life to become what I wanted, I had to do more with intention.
It was 2018 when my eyes were opened to this, but it’s really only been the past year that I’ve actively explored my life and began asking the questions:
“Why am I here?”
“What is my purpose?”
“What is it I truly want to accomplish with my time here?”
“Who do I want to positively impact and how do I want to do that?”
For me, these aren’t easy questions to answer. But I’ve found an excitement inside of me that is anxious to have them revealed as I take that first step into this MKE journey. Life has become exciting for me and the greatest lesson that I’ve learned so far is that I’m the one that makes this so. I can’t wait to see the gifts I’ll receive in these next 6 months and the kind of growth that will help me become the me I’m supposed to be!
“I figure life is a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You never know what hand you’re going to get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at ya. To make each day count.” — Jack Dawson
