End of the year, Christmas time. Always a great time to spend with family and friends and when a lot of people will let themselves hang loose a bit more than usual. This is also the time of year that some will take a step back and reflect on the happenings throughout the year and begin to think about what they would like to accomplish in the new year.
For me, this has been a year of quite a few changes, which for the most part have been good. My biggest takeaway has been learning and understanding the control I have in how anything will affect me. It is all about my perspective and decision that is going to drive my mood and success with anything I do.
Do I allow the little things to get to me, or give me joy?
Do I let others affect my mood, or do I initiate the mood I want for the day and not allow anything negative to interrupt how I feel?
Do I let others impact me, or do I go out with intent to impact others (positively of course)?
I’ve heard the statement many times, control what you can control and don’t worry about the things you can’t. This is something I am taking into the new year with intent and a definite purpose. I no longer allow the negativity to take a toll on me as it has many, many times in the past. I am in control.
I now fully know that the power is within me and absolutely nothing can take that away. Bring on the new year!
