We Become What We Think About Most of The Time – Earl Nightingale
When I hear Earl Nightingale’s audio recording of his book “The Strangest Secret”, I didn’t understand it. How can my thought make me who I am?
As I go into the MKE Experience program, I am recognizing the truth that 1) Thoughts are Things, and 2) I am the sum total of my thoughts & decisions.
Given that this is true, I have been totally negligent about what is going into my head. I have filled my head with thoughts that have not been serving me. I have filled with a mind of lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride (i.e. the 7 Deadly Sins to Man). I am not saying I am 100% all the 7 Deadly Sins. However, there is a certain degree amount of them that is within me.
I need to be a responsible Watchman at the Gate of my thoughts & mind. I have been simply passive letting other people’s words, opinions, and suggestion to influence/become me (i.e., The word has become flesh.).
Let me exercise my mind.
Let me wipe away thoughts that don’t serve me.
Let me inspect what I am inputting into my mind.
Let me houseclean my mind.
Let me fill my thoughts with chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, forgiveness, kindness, and humility
Let me earnestly, assert, and possess it!
For I am the possibility of empowerment, love, and courage.
If I don’t, I will lose it. Great power comes with great responsibilities. If I don’t take care of my mind, I will drift like a leaf blowing in the wind and/or atrophy like a corroding rusty nail.
Thank you Ched. This really resonated with me, “For I am the possibility of empowerment, love, and courage.”
Thank you Chad for your insights. I must do some mind clearing of my own.
Ched, thank you, our thoughts are indeed powerful.
Yes, Chad, I hear ya. I, too, could use some house cleaning. LOL Great Week #5! 🙂
