Interview date: February 29, 2024. Time: 10 am
Location: Martha Krejci’s house, Windermere, Florida.
Setting: I am seated in a white, plush, oversized, velvety chair, that swivels and rocks and has a matching foot stool. I have a warm vanilla, caramel, cinnamon tea on the table next to me in a pug mug with the tail as a handle (her surprise gift to me!). I’m wearing a soft flowy shirt, leggings, and pink slippers (another gift to me). Her French bulldog, Cookie, and her friend’s pug, Hawkeye, are snuggled next to me, taking advantage of my blanket and snoring away. Martha is kitty corner to me on her couch wearing a t-shirt with an inspirational quote, leggings, and adidas sneakers. She has her coffee in hand, legs bent with her feet tucked on the couch, and a notebook with her interview questions listed.
Martha: “Hello my friend, how are you? I’m so glad you’re here!”
Brittany: “Hello, I am fabulous, thank you so much for having me in your home. I’m thrilled to be here!”
M: “I have to say, you… look…. amazing! Your skin is glowing, your smile is vibrant, and you are radiating positivity!”
B: “Aww you are so kind! Thank you for your generous gifts – I LOVE the pug mug and slippers you gave me!” (Flutters feet and takes a sip of tea)
M: “You are very welcome! I am so excited to share your journey with everyone because I know people are looking for what you have, and you have definitely inspired me!”
B: “Wow, I’m so honored to hear that! You have made such a big impact on my life as well and I feel everything is coming full circle and I am able to give back to you.”
M: “That’s what it’s all about right? Giving and receiving (takes a sip of her coffee). So, let’s dive in… tell me where you were a few years ago? What was your life like?”
B: “Life was really hard. I was working 50-60+ hours a week, living paycheck to paycheck and had a mountain of debt that I thought I would never pay off. I felt I had to work as much as possible to provide for my family and make the smallest dent in our accumulating interest. I was so stressed working all the time, with no time for myself and my family, and very little sleep. I was overweight, depressed, and physically and mentally exhausted. I didn’t value myself and I felt guilty any time I was doing something fun that wasn’t productive. I had done all the “right” steps in life – college, career, marriage, house, etc, but I wasn’t where I wanted to be. How was that even possible? I felt so discouraged and hopeless that this was what my future looked like until I retired….IF I could retire one day. Yet, deep down, I KNEW there was more to life…my passion, purpose, mission, destiny,…whatever you want to call it ….something, but I didn’t know what it was or how to get it.”
M: “Man,…. your story sounds like mine, and I think a lot of people out there can relate and are experiencing the same struggles. It’s difficult trying to pay the bills, balance work and family, take care of yourself, and ‘do all the things.’”
B: “Yes, I agree, and one of the saddest things I realized, is that people think that way of life is normal and that they have to accept it, so they do. They never dare to dream because they settled into the idea that this is as good as it gets.”
M: “How did you come to realize a better way of life was not only possible, but achievable and what steps did you take to move forward?”
B: “First, I made a decision, (maybe even unconsciously), but some sort of inner vow that I could not keep living this way. I followed the signs of hope that lead me from one opportunity to another, one of which, was your Home-Based Revolution, Martha. I saw how your pain fueled your passion on your journey, and I wanted the same – to have all my struggle be used for a purpose, for some good. I started listening to my inner truth. When something resonated with my heart and made me say ‘yes’ in my soul, I kept doing more of that. I noticed common threads in all my ‘yes’ experiences, and eventually I figured out that it all starts and ends inside me. So, I took classes and started doing the inner work necessary to discover my true purpose in life and why I’m here.”
M: “After following your heart and hints of hope, what does your life look like now?”
B: “Now, I’m fit, lean, and healthy – down over 100lbs! Whoo! I’m off all my prescriptions and I practice immaculate self-care with massages, essential oils, chiropractic adjustments, and detox baths. I go on walks with my family and enjoy nature. I even have a personal chef that cooks me delicious gluten free meals!
M: “OOO a personal chef – that got my attention! (haha) What else is different now?
B: “I’m earning over $20,000 in residual income every month, even while I’m sleeping! (haha) I get to work when I choose and the best part is, it doesn’t even feel like work because I love helping people and I have so much fun! I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends and feel ZERO guilt!! I can travel when I want with my flexible schedule and I can afford to participate in opportunities that feed my soul. I’m finally saying ‘yes’ to me and honoring who God created me to be!”
M: “I’ll have what she’s having right!?”
B: “Put me down for seconds! (haha)
M: “What’s one final thought you want people to walk away with?”
B: “You are powerful. You have a choice. Reclaim your birthright and thrive!”
M: “Thank you so much for joining me today and being of service to everyone watching live and on the replay! You are a champion!”
B: “You are welcome my friend! It was my privilege!” (We hug each other)
